I've reinstalled it on a brand new PC, using the SAME. UPDATE: SmartFTP's reply that I can still use it is dismissive. Can't support such a business that has given me poor customer service. I just had to make some setting adjustments to make it work similar to SmartFTP, but it works fine. Switched to an alternative, which is 100% free. It misleads customers because ultimately, there is ZERO customer service/support. But if I renew it, this isn't an issue anymore because I can just use the new version instead of the old one. I'd have to renew it for them to help me. When I contacted SmartFTP for help, all they could tell me was because my Maintenance Fee has expired, they can't provide me support. Even when it's an exact copy & paste from my account information while logged into SmartFTP's client page. When I try reactivate my key again, it tells me it is NOT a valid key. It advertises we do not need to keep renewing the Maintenance fee and can continue using the version we paid for. I have the original EXE of the version I had downloaded, I tried to reinstall it but it tells me my KEY is not valid. I was able to reinstall it just fine in early 2016 when I bought a new PC.īut all of a sudden in May-June, it stops working and says my Trial has expired. I bought the license in 2014, I don't have an issue with buying a newer version when there's sufficient/drastic updates/features to make me want it.
